Love this poll by the way. Ranking his films are always hard for me. I typically say Pulp Fiction, as I did now, but always consider Kill Bill Vol 1, Django Unchained and even Death Proof as possible favorites.
Thanks buddy! I’m glad you rank Death Proof highly, people usually say it’s their least favourite but it’s so awesome. I also love KB Vol 2 more than Vol 1.
When I first watched Death Proof I loved it and felt that this was perhaps one of Tarantino’s most “Tarantino” film ever. The 360 camera shot conversations, violence and gore, realistic dialogue, and even the foot fetish all payed homage to the films he previously made. But when I found out people think its his worst film I was so distraught. Maybe they expected something grand and adventurous and were disappointed (I am still unsure what people like). This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkOLfbt16gs breaks down Death Proof and explains why it is possibly Tarantino’s best film. This video made me love Death Proof a lot more afterwards. It essentially explains how Death Proof was a movie which expressed Tarantino’s deep love for cinema, which I think is beautiful.
I’m gonna check that video out, looks interesting! I’m loving your points about Death Proof. It’s basically all his signatures and everything lovable about his movies, as well as homages to other movies and directors, all in one. Really glad you like it too!
This time I went with Hateful 8, as we had such a great time watching it at the cinema – and it was funny in German and in English but for different reasons =)
As others have said already Pulp Fiction is a classic, but for me it also happens to be my first introduction to Tarantino. So that is why I voted for Pulp Fiction, but I do love Resevoir Dogs and Jackie Brown big time. Pulp Fiction was such a great movie that fit so many genres too me. I love the fact that it was gritty, but also had kind of hilarious in a very dark way. The interweaving of the stories created a whole sub-genre of the indie movie scene, which I got completely hooked to. Really great poll!
Thankyou for voting!! I think Pulp Fiction works perfectly as an introduction to Tarantino. You’re very right about the sub-genres in the movie – it’s really a special one!! I think I’m going to do a post about Tarantino movies following this poll – there’s some interesting results.
Can’t believe that IB is winning this poll! Must be an age thing.
Jackie Brown all the way!
Cheers, Pete.

I’m a bit late to the party (doh!) but I voted for the big favourite anyway 🙂 I love a lot of his movies but Pulp Fiction is impossible to beat!
