Thanks to Ben over at Views From The Sofa, I’ve joined the Liebster crew! Ben had some pretty epic answers in his third Liebster Award post, and some interesting questions too, so I’m about to answer them all and nominate the next Liebsters of tomorrow.
1 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Ghostbusters? The heroes in the half shells! They’re just too cool for school.
2 He-Man or Liono from the Thundercats? He-Man. Purely because I admire his bold and gender fluid hairstyle choices.
3 Cinema or Blu-Ray/DVD? It depends on the movie! And the situation! I’d always say any movie is best seen on the big screen, but there’s nothing better than alphabetising a huge DVD collection.
4 Hot drink on a cold day or a cold drink on a hot day? Cold drink on a hot day. I prefer being cold to hot. Preferably a cold beer. On a tropical island. With some snacks.
5 Classic Video Games or New Generation? It depends how classic you want to get, but I like to cling on to the OG games. I still enjoy the first of the Tekken franchise on PS1.
6 WWE Today or WWE Attitude? I can’t make an informed decision on this as I don’t keep up with WWE today. But I was a big fan of the Attitude era, I was always The Undertaker.
7 Mad Max Gibson or Mad Max Hardy? I’ve got to say Hardy, because I just don’t really rate Gibson.
8 Batflex or Batbale? I haven’t seen the ‘Fleck as batman yet, but watch this space! I enjoy Val Kilmer as batman.
9 Civil War – are you team Iron Man or Captain America? Team Iron Man all the way. He’d bring charisma to the darkest of days.
10 Thor’s Hammer or Luke’s Lightsaber? Luke’s lightsaber. I don’t think I’d be able to lift Thor’s hammer.
11 You have to take part in one – Hunger Games or Battle Royale? Hunger Games. Hopefully that would give me chance to get to know Jennifer Lawrence a bit better.
I hope my answers are suitably satisfying, but if anyone would like to take me up on any of my decisions, I’m sure we can settle it in a peaceful way.
As my nominees, I am going to choose a handful of my cool latest followers:
OpinionPark (looking to review every Pixar movie before the UK release of Finding Dory!)
Emma (Emma has pretty good taste when it comes to movie soundtracks!)
Robert (Robert has some brilliant pieces on the silver screen)
FictionsMistress (I loved the Tarzan review!)
Jason (a very thorough and informative selection of great movie reviews!)
JumpingJolens (all things cool! A really great recent review of one of my favourites- Breathless)
Ghezal (some VERY interesting opinion pieces and a great sense of humour!)
Here’s my questions for you guys (you know the drill – re-post this on your blog with your answers, nominate your choices for the next Liebster Award and come up with some questions of your own):
- Snog, Marry, Avoid, Send to another planet: Jim Carrey, Sally Field, Dustin Hoffman, Cate Blanchett
- What’s your favourite film genre and why?
- What’s the key ingredient to a truly fantastic film?
- Which remake do you wish never happened?
- What do you do when you’re not blogging?
- Would you rather have a coffee with Donald Trump or Kris Kardashian?
- Gary Oldman’s best role?
- Quentin Tarantino’s worst film?
- If you could transport one character from one movie into another movie, who and what would it be?
- What do you rate the movie Grease out of 10?
- Do you think the moon landing happened or do you think the moon landing did not happen?
Thanks again for reading, and feel free to fire any more questions over or fun facts about yourself in the comments box below, whoever you are!
This is awesome! Thanks for nominating me, I can’t wait to do this!

You know what? It takes a very comfortable man to be able to pull off such choices, my friend. He-Man needs to be appreciated more… Thanks for the nom! 🙂

Well done with the award. I don’t ‘do’ awards anymore myself, but when nominated, I have answered the questions.
The first of many, I am sure.
Best wishes, Pete.

Congrats on your award!! And LOVED your answers 🙂 your reason for choosing He-Man is PERFECT! I prefer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too 🙂 was obsessed when I was younger! And I have alphabetised my DVDs 🙂
Thank you so much for my nomination and your kind words me and soundtracks! ❤
And I know you CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER for my answer on Snog, Marry, Avoid, so here's a little preview for you………..
Snog, Marry, Avoid, Send to another planet: Jim Carrey, Sally Field, Dustin Hoffman, Cate Blanchett
I'm going to snog Jim Carrey, straight away, bam. Had a crush on him when I was younger haha. The other three, well this is hard. I guess I'm going to have to marry Dustin Hoffman because he's so kind and funny. Sally Field – sorry hun I'm sending you to another planet (but it's nothing personal!) and I'll avoid Cate Blanchett. Funny image, Cate walking around Hollywood and me hiding behind bins and trees, trying to avoid her!
🙂

Sally Field really is not doing well on this, hahahaha. I think I would snog Sally Field. I agree re: avoid Cate Blanchett, but that’s only because of the other runners in the race!
I’m really glad you enjoyed reading it! Let me know when you tackle the other Q’s, there’s some controversial thoughts flying around!

Right, in case I don’t get the chance to do this properly, here’s my other answers 🙂 –
What’s your favourite film genre and why?
Horror because I find it genuinely exciting to sit and watch any horror film. This has been the case since I was young. Not all my favourite films are horror (indeed a lot of them aren’t) but as a genre, it’s the one that excites me the most!
What’s the key ingredient to a truly fantastic film?
Just a really good story.
Which remake do you wish never happened?
Ummmm………TV remakes annoy me the most. Like America remaking Shameless or The Inbetweeners.
What do you do when you’re not blogging?
Just the usual boring things that most usual boring people do lol. Work, sleep, watch trashy TV, read, do housework and eat lots of potatoes (man I love potatoes!)
Would you rather have a coffee with Donald Trump or Kris Kardashian?
Kris Kardashian
Gary Oldman’s best role? Drexyl in True Romance!
Quentin Tarantino’s worst film?
I love Tarantino, it’s hard to say. Are we talking generally his worst or personally my least favourite? Personally my least favourite is probably Django Unchained….I think.
If you could transport one character from one movie into another movie, who and what would it be? Harry Potter into the Lord of the Rings, just to f**k with his mind!
What do you rate the movie Grease out of 10? 10/10 with no irony. One of the very few musicals I genuinely LOVE. Danny Zuko was my first ever crush!
Do you think the moon landing happened or do you think the moon landing did not happen? I think the moon landing happened. What do you think? 🙂

Oh wow. I love this!! Thanks for answering the Qs! Horrors THE best genre – a woman after my own heart. Also, HP would lose his mind in LOTR, he’d be freaking out big time.

No probs!! They were such great, fun questions 🙂 glad we’re on the same (horror!) wavelength too!!

You ask such awesome questions. You should answer them here too ha. How would you answer 3 and 4?

Ok I’ll answer them here just for you!
Snog, Marry, Avoid, Send to another planet: Jim Carrey, Sally Field, Dustin Hoffman, Cate Blanchett – oh.. Actually didn’t realise how hard this is hahah. Snog Dustin, marry Cate, avoid Sally – sorry Sally you probably wouldn’t like me anyway, send Jim to another planet, I think he’d love it.
What’s your favourite film genre and why? – horror: can be a very clever genre if done correctly. Love how a horror can make you feel!
What’s the key ingredient to a truly fantastic film? – who knows, films have gone down in history or gained a cult following for various different reasons. But I think it has to have really strong, relatable human truths at its heart.
Which remake do you wish never happened? – Oldboy in 2013. Bad, bad, bad.
What do you do when you’re not blogging? – working. We create websites and other digital marketing products for customers.. I like scuba diving once a week or so of its good conditions, and I’m watching movies a lot too!
Would you rather have a coffee with Donald Trump or Kris Kardashian? – I’d be interested to see how annoying Donald Trump could really be. I’d like to film him answering some challenging Qs and make the video go viral too.
Gary Oldman’s best role? – hard one!! Drexl in True Romance springs to mind, but he’s had a lot of fantastic roles.
Quentin Tarantino’s worst film? – it’s not a bad one, but the one I would rate the lowest (8 of of 10!) would be Hateful 8.
If you could transport one character from one movie into another movie, who and what would it be? – i would probably put captain Miller from Saving Private Ryan into something like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, just so he can have a break and a really good time.
What do you rate the movie Grease out of 10? – 9!
Do you think the moon landing happened or do you think the moon landing did not happen? – the conspiracies are interesting, but I think it happened

Your Gary Oldman question got me thinking about how I think I’d choose his best role and his best film and have them as two separate points. Good hour though.
I did a quiz not so long ago on lousy sequels. I dont think Oldboy was in there but there was some big competition. The desert island with a set of films you don’t want to be stuck on.
Sweet answer for Captain Miller.
